35 discos gringos de 2013 e algo mais

já meio que adiantei na lista das “70 músicas gringas” dois dos melhores discos segundo o gosto da casa. o mergulho jamaicano de snopp dogg em reincarnated (que também virou um excelente documentário) é um compêndio e tanto de velhos e novos ritmos da ilha, tudo habilmente misturado com rap na produção de diplo/major lazer (e snoop ainda arranjou tempo de cair no funk como snoopzilla em outro trabalho). já matangi, o quarto disco de m.i.a., é uma volta aos sons espertos, rascantes e pesados de arular (2005) e kala (2007). são discos intensos, variados musicalmente e politicamente urgentes.   

tem também um disco muito especial que foi um dos mais ouvidos por aqui: brassens – echos d’aujourd’hui, um tributo ao cantor e poeta francês georges brassens com participações de artistas de muitas partes do mundo, desde o brasileiro rodrigo amarante até as colombianas do grupo canalon de timbiqui, passando pelo francês blundetto, o americano shawn lee, a inglesa lianne la havas e as argentinas hermanas caronni. disco bonito da porra.

outro destaque do ano foi o rap – como também aconteceu na lista de discos do brasil – só que diferente daqui, quem mandou bem no mundão foram artistas veteranos ou com vários anos de estrada. teve snoop dogg (lion) e m.i.a., e ainda jay-z, kanye west, ghostface killah, busta rhymes, q-tip, rjd2 e o grupo hieroglyphics. outra contribuição feminina veio com o ótimo bruja, da espanhola mala rodriguez.

pra encerrar essa primeira leva de destaques, três grandes discos instrumentais: o retorno do mestre mulatu astatke em sketches of ethiopia, o piano solo de john medeski no delicado a different time e o jazz latino inspiradíssimo de chucho valdes em border-free. e, sem mais delongas, os 35 melhores discos gringos de 2013 segundo o esforçado.
